Our History

Cisco's Mexican Restaurant

It all began during the late ’50s and early ’60s with Mr. Samuel Wilson, when he ventured into the hospitality industry, opening his first restaurant. Robert L Wilson, Senior, his eldest child, witnessed his father’s dedication and hard work and was inspired to follow in his footsteps. It seemed as though the passion for the industry ran in their blood.

Bob started by opening a few bars and eventually took a gamble by opening a restaurant in Northridge in 1971. Despite the risks involved, it eventually paid off.

During the early ’70s, Bob caught wind of a buzzing new city – Westlake Village. Intrigued, he decided to venture over the hill to explore it and instantly fell in love. Bob quickly decided to move to Westlake Village shortly after its establishment. The surrounding area, with its new homes and businesses around the lake, became an up-and-coming location for many families. Bob saw great potential in this area and believed it was the perfect place to open his second restaurant. In 1974, Cisco’s Mexican restaurant opened its doors on Westlake Boulevard.

Over the years, Bob Sr. and his wife Linda have become well-known figures within the Conejo Valley community, leaving a lasting impression. Robert L Wilson became the mayor of Thousand Oaks and City Council in 2003 to 2004Linda Wilson became involved in Rotary International in 1989 for over 30 years as well as all three Chamber of Commerce Agoura, Westlake, and Thousand Oaks. She went on to be the president of the American Heart Association.
